You’re Amazing Rubber Stamp Set-Birthday Card

You're Amazing is one of the many free rubber stamp sets I received at Stampin' Up! Convention in July.  Very appropriate since I was thinking that about Stampin' Up!–"You're Amazing!"  This, my first Stampin' Up! Convention, was a stand-out experience for me, and I'll share more of that tomorrow.  But for today, I want to share this birthday card I created for my daughter-in-law Nicole.

Stampin' Up! You're Amazing
When creating this You're Amazing birthday card, I knew I wanted to begin with Midnight Muse.  Nicole likes the deep blues, and I knew this was one of her favorite new In Colors.  And I thought the Calypso Coral and Bashful Blue really made a nice color combo.  I wanted to use the Chevrons embossing folder because my Nicole loves the chevrons–she loves my Stampin' Up! Convention handbag:)  See it here.  And things were coming together nicely for this birthday card.  I sponged the chevron-embossed piece with Calypso Coral ink to bring out the chevrons even more, giving them more depth.  I colored the rhinestones with an orange sharpie and really liked the bling.  But after I added the Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon, I knew it needed something else but didn't think it should be more of the same ribbon.  That brought a formal finish, and I wanted a blend of formal and casual–because that is my Nicole.  Calypso Coral Bakers Twine brought the perfect finishing touch for this card!

I liked it so much, I decided to make it the card for my Southern Sweet Stampers Demonstrator Group Meeting for July as well as one of the cards my card-making rubber stamp clubs will make in August.  (Click on the link to learn more about my clubs.)  A good design just keeps on giving!
