I adore the artwork in the Vintage Leaves stamp set by Stampin' Up! The detail is incredible, and each leaf is so realistic. The size and variety of the leaves makes it easy to work with to create so many types of loveliness! For this Thanksgiving card, I was thinking of a particularly lovely tablecloth I have…that's how this came to be:) In addition, I have been really "stuck" on this fresh, fall color scheme: Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green or Olive Green, and Tangerine Tango. Of course, our new Sweet Sugarplum is the perfect lighter shade of Rich Razzleberry, so it makes a big splash in today's Thanksgiving card. Since I had LOTS of color going on, I chose Sahara Sand as my "backdrop" ie. card base to make the pretty, fresh, fall colors take center stage. You can see another fall card I made with this color scheme here–where you will also see how I got the Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper leaves!
Once again, I'm using my favorite Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog item: Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper. My camera skills fail to fully capture its sumptuous glimmer and subtle shine. I just love it. Warm, sparkly, magical! Although I've been using it on most all my fall and Halloween projects, I think it as LOTS of application long beyond fall. So I'm hoping to still get plenty of creative playtime with it.
To achieve the "tablecloth" look on the various pieces of card stock, I did not random stamp. Rather, I placed the stamped images on the card stock strategically, more like a jigsaw puzzle. So they do overlap some. But I found that, due to the strong detail in the images, random stamping with lots of overlapping led to a chaotic look that was most unpleasant:( So, just a heads up if this inspires you to create something even somewhat similar. And I hope it does!
This was one of the cards we made at my October Stamp a Stack. There's another one coming in November with both LIVE and TO GO options, so check out this link and consider joining us…in person or virtually. It's an all Christmas Cards Stamp a Stack.
That's it for today. All the Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked below for your convenience. Thanks so much for stopping by!
