Thoughtful Branches Bundle

Time is running out to get the awesome Thoughtful Branches bundle as it is only available through the end of August or while supplies last.  I made this birthday card for my daughter-in-law Nicole and LOVE the opportunity we have as stampers to customize color palettes and images and greetings to make just the right card for the special people in our lives.  And Nicole is very special to me personally as well as our whole family.  She is the first one that married into the Rattray Clan in San Antonio, and we are forever grateful!  I knew that Thoughtful Branches bundle would bring the look I had in mind…

Thoughtful Branches-Stampin' Up!I was going for a look of simple elegance–like Nicole.  And although you cannot see it in my photo (pooh!!!), there is Wink of Stella on all the hydrangea petals bringing a soft shimmer.  Again, that is like Nicole–she sparkles but does it softly:)  This is how I think of my loved ones as I create!  Nicole also loves burlap, so I went to our new Burlap Ribbon for the perfect earthy touch to keep my card from being too blingy or flashy.

My color scheme is Watermelon Wonder and Emerald Envy.  I love those two In Colors together!  One is from last year and one from this year.  Emerald Envy is VERY bold!  But when you use it is small doses it is really nice.

One of my all-time favorite techniques is sponging.  It doesn't cost a dime but brings so much depth.  That is how I made the greeting pop.  And the greeting is cut out with the new Layering Circles Framelits.  I will admit that I was skeptical when these came out.  I liked the Circle Framelits I already have.  But wow…am I glad I got them!  Not only can you get really, really tight layers, you can also get both smooth circles and these small scalloped ones.  The scalloped edges are small and subtle.  I love them!

Okay, that's it for me today.  Nicole really liked her card, and I hope you are inspired by it!  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked below.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
