The Swirly Bird stamp set and coordinating thinlits in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog have taken the stamping world by storm! Who would have thought that some simple shapes would become so popular?!!! But their creative possibilities are endless. Today I'm sharing a simple card I created for my June Training Event using just the stamps. I love the coordinating stamp set and thinlts, but I also love that you can break up the "set" and create with just one or the other and still have stellar results. For this card I went to Flirty Flamingo, my favorite of the new 2016-2018 In Colors.
There are no words in the Swirly Bird stamp set, so I went to the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set (yes, they "go" with one of our beautiful kits, but then you have a very versatile and lovely stamp set once your kit is finished!) The images in Swirly Bird are bold and modern, and I like the contrast of the delicate and feminine font of Designer Tin of Cards.
This is a super simple card of stamps, ink, and paper–the basic supplies of our craft. The two small embellishments are both new items in the 2016/2017 Stampin' Up! catalog: Gold 3/8" Natural Trim and Metallic Enamel Shapes. I highly recommend them both for super versatility!
As always, the Stampin' Up! supplies are shown and linked below. And the measurements on this card are very simple: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 for the card base and 5-1/4 x 4 for the Very Vanilla layer. That's it! Simple, fun card-making!
