Thanks for visiting today as I press forward with my 31-Day Blogging Challenge. It began with daily posts, but then I missed a few days. Never mind–I'm still working on my goal of 31 days of almost daily posts:) Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt suite is a gorgeous set of coordinating products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog that make handmade Christmas cards come together quickly and easily–and beautifully! I love that Stampin' Up! does all the "work" of coordination for me so I can just get in and have fun creating with fabulous, no-fuss products.
This is one of the handmade Christmas cards we made in a recent Christmas card class and combines 3 elements of the Christmas Quilt Suite:
- Quilted Christmas DSP stack
- Christmas Quilt Photopolymer stamp set (see-through stamps!)
- Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
I'd like to point out a few tips that make this a quick and easy Christmas card–that doesn't look like it would be quick and easy!
- I used the de-bossed side of the Garden Green card stock. Did you know there is an embossed and de-bossed side to paper once it has gone through an embossing folder? Here, I used the backside–the de-bossed side–as I think it looks like a matelasse quilt:)
- My main focal point is not a stamped image but a piece of DSP! That's right! My Christmas Quilt square is actually a 3 x 3 piece of Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper. Quick and easy!
- I used one of my favorite color combinations for traditional red and green Christmas cards: Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, and Real Red or Cherry Cobbler. Garden Green and Wild Wasabi are dark/light counterparts of each other and work beautifully together. See other Christmas cards with this same color combo here, here, here .
That's it for today. I offered the full tutorial for this Christmas card as one of 18 free card tutorials to my newsletter subscribers this month. It's free!
