I’m enormously proud of my Southern Sweet Stampers team of demonstrators. We come from all walks of life and live in different parts of the United States, coming together to form a positive, creative, friendly community.
Our volunteer staff makes things run smoothly–helping us craft, create, connect, learn, support one another, and give back more effectively. My aim as team leader is to provide a community where you can flourish as a creative, as a friend, as a human. It’s a positive, creative space where all are welcome. Together, we are better!
Making a Difference Coordinator-Alicia Fawcett
Alicia lives in San Antonio and has a huge heart to give back. Growing up with 2 special needs sisters helped form her intense desire to help those who are often overlooked. By day she works as Director of Strategy & Planning for a non-profit (Greater SATX). She and her husband Thomas are proud doggy parents.
Alicia helps us focus our efforts to give back as a team of demonstrators by providing a quarterly opportunity for our team to give back. Although many of us share our creativity with others throughout the year in a host of ways, our quarterly concentrated efforts help us make a larger impact by delivering a group gift.
Prayer Coordinator-Peggy Alspaugh
Peggy is a retired RN living in San Antonio although she is originally from Minnesota. She is an avid quilter as well as paper crafter. She and her husband Tom, also a retired RN, enjoy serving as volunteers at the Tobin Center.
Peggy posts a fresh prayer thread every week in our Southern Sweet Stampers Facebook group. It’s the perfect place to take your burdens, knowing they will be shared with our team and prayed for. Many of our Southern Sweet Stampers will be praying for the posted needs–and rejoicing in the answered prayers posted as well! In addition to faithfully posting the prayer thread each week, Peggy is committed to pray for each and every prayer request shared.
Creative Challenge Coordinator-Crystal Wilson
Crystal is a super busy SAHM of 4 boys. Married to her high school sweetheart and a graduate of Texas A&M, she is proudly sending her first born to Texas A&M this fall. Crystal and her family live in Round Rock, north of Austin, TX.
Crystal posts both a monthly and bi-monthly Creative Challenge in our Facebook Group and also mails out the prizes. Her dedication to this project includes reminding us to participate and sharing her own beautiful projects. She also holds my feet to the fire so I remember to do the drawings and announce the winners!
Business Challenge Coordinator, Paper Pumpkin Alternate Projects Creator-Jennifer Jenkins
Jennifer is a life of the party kind of girl! As a single career woman and devoted cat mom, she teaches English as a Second Language for the military in San Antonio. Her students love her as she keeps them laughing while they learn.
I offer 1-2 business challenges each month, and Jennifer does a fabulous job of posting them on our Facebook Group, reminding us to participate, and keeping the challenge in front of us.
I also commissioned Jennifer to create a set of alternative projects every month for our team to use for themselves as well as in their business. These projects are not watermarked so our team members can use them easily.
Team Swap Coordinator, Resident Paper Pumpkin Expert-Melissa Thomas
Melissa works in higher education and has worn many hats from learning center director to curriculum consultant. She is also a very busy mom to Marianne and serves tirelessly with the Girl Scouts. Melissa and husband Jonathan recently moved from Austin to Dripping Springs in the Texas Hill Country. In addition to serving the Southern Sweet Stampers, Melissa has built her own team-Sea to Sea Stampers. As a Gold demonstrator, she works hard in her own business, so she juggles a lot. But that seems to make Melissa happy!
With the launch of every new catalog, Melissa hosts a mail-in swap for our team. All are welcome to participate! With Paper Pumpkin forming a major part of her own business and being part of a Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop, she is our resident Paper Pumpkin expert.
Mystery Stamping Coordinator-Terry Lynn Bouquet
Terry Lynn lives near St. Louis, MO and is a proud wife, mom, and grandmother. As a cancer survivor she has a lot of life and love to give. Terry Lynn never meets a stranger and will always make you feel at home with her big heart.
Terry Lynn provides the team with dimensions and instructions for a mystery project for our monthly team meeting. This is a super fun creative prompt, and we love seeing the many ways of creating with the same basic measurements and supplies. All those projects are shared during the team meeting and then uploaded to an album in the Facebook group.
Team Meeting Make & Takes Team-Candy Rattray, Cheryl Peery, Darlene Boardman, Melissa Thomas, Sara Quoma
As leaders within the Southern Sweet Stampers team (all are at Silver Elite or above in Stampin’ Up! title) this group rotates the preparation and mailing of the monthly meeting make & take packets. This is no small feat! Monthly meetings are always free and hosted on Zoom. Optional packets are mailed a week before the meeting for a $10 fee and include prepared supplies for 4-6 projects. The pdf tutorial for the projects is shared with the entire team.
