Welcome to my Sunday Inspirational Post where I feature handmade cards and projects that are decidedly inspirational. Today I'm featuring a card using Rose Wonder by Stampin' Up!–without any of the beautiful flower images. Although those images are lovely, my favorite part of this large stamp set is the words or greetings or sentiments or verses (whichever term you prefer for the words on our cards). There are so many options for making inspirational cards.
For this inspirational card, I used seasonal fall colors–Delightful Dijon is perfect for the primary color. I stamped the leaves image several times tone on tone with Delightful Dijon ink, keeping the base of the stems all in a "bunch." That gets covered up with the pretty papers from Petals & Paisley Designer Series Paper and the greeting.
I do love the Layering Circles framelit dies. The modernized scallop circles are much more delicate and subtle than the scallop circles we previously had. And since I was using the Big Shot, I ran a little scrap of Cajun Craze card stock through the Woodgrain Embossing folder for just a touch of texture. I kept it pretty simple, and this was a favorite at my monthly card class for September.
Instead of just thinking about and praying for people (which is significant in and of itself), why not take your thoughtfulness and care one step further? Make a simple, handmade inspirational card and write some words in it. No, this is not something that is dying in our world of technology and social media. It's alive and well and actually has more meaning now than ever. Extend your caring by sharing a handmade card with hand-written words. You will bless your friends and family (even strangers through random acts of kindness) beyond your wildest imaginations.
