Paper Buttons

The Paper Buttons technique allows you to create your own buttons for just pennies from virtually any shape you can punch out or die cut.  This fun rubber stamping technique gives you the ultimate in customization options.  The paper buttons you produce can be used on cards like the one below or on scrapbook pages, or even other crafting projects like boxes, bags, and more.  The possibilities are endless!  The card below, created by Jamie Sanchez for our monthly Southern Sweet Stampers demonstrator meeting, shows a paper button made with the Boho Blossoms Punch.  Paper buttons are fun to make and take a quick and easy card like the one below and make it look extra special.

Here are the instructions for the Paper Buttons Technique:

  1.   Punch five of the same shapes out of cardstock.
  2.   Using a glue pen or glue stick, stack them one on top of the other, making sure to line up the edges as close as possible, adhereing each layer.
  3.   Using a pencil, mark where you want the holes, then punch them using a Crop-a-dile or a hole piercing tool the size you    want the holes to be.
  4.   Cover the top and sides with a thin layer of Crystal Effects and put button on wax paper to dry. It should take about 30 minutes and voila! you have a button!
