Summer Mini Catalog Sneak Peek!

The Summer Mini Catalog is already being mailed out and will go live on May 1st.  That is less than 2 weeks away!  I thought a little sneak peek was in order:)

I've been working on swaps so I'll be ready for you to see plenty of samples using items from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Those samples will, of course, be on my Mini Catalog display board in my Stamping Studio.  But I will also be featuring many of them right here on my blog.

Fabulous Mambo

This card features the new stamp set Fabulous Florets as well as the new Embossing Powder in Melon Mambo.  How fun is that–colored embossing powder?!!   The Summer Mini offers 3 custom colors:  Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, and Tangerine Tango.  They are sure to add texture, brightness, dimension, and fun to your projects!

You will also notice the gorgeous new Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  It is designed to specifically coordinate with the Fabulous Florets stamp set.  I love the way Stampin' Up! makes it easy for us to make fantastic looking cards and scrapbooks with custom-coordinated products.  Any of the products stand alone and look great, but put them all together and you have sophisticated design that won't quit!  Using the coordinated products allows me to put together handmade cards, scrapbook pages, and more that make people think I went to art school!

Stay tuned for more sneak peeks and information about the soon-to-be-released Summer Mini Catalog.  It's chock-full of great things to stamp and scrap your summer and more.  Call me at 210-355-5729 or email me by clicking on the Email Candy button to your left, and I'll make sure you receive your own free copy of the Summer Mini.

Saturday Sample

For today's Saturday Sample, I am happy to share a fun card we made in my montly card making hostess clubs this month.  It features the Daisies #2 die, used with the Big Shot.  (We use the Big Shot during every hostess club meeting–scrapbookers and card makers.  It's free training in using the Big Shot in addition to getting to try out lots of different dies.)  By using many of the large and small daisies from the die, we created a gerbera daisy.  I love the ruffly center!  It begs you to touch it and fluff it!

Gerbera MD
When designing this card, I wanted a Mother's Day card that was a bit non-traditional.  Sometimes Mother's Day cards are all about pinks and purples and old-fashioned flowers.  While I love those images, we have a generation of younger moms that are more suited to streamlined, contemporary images.  So that was in my thinking when I was putting this together:  flowers, yes; frilly, no; strong color, yes; soft color, no.  And although this is a Mother's Day card, its design is easily adaptable to other occasions.  I hope you like my card as much as my club members did!  The gerbera daisies are a blast to make!

Supplies:

  • Stamps:  All Holidays, Always (inside greeting), Razzle Dazzle (inside and envelope)
  • Ink:  Cajun Craze, So Saffron Classic Stampn' Pads, Versamark Pad
  • Paper:  Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango card stocks; Regals Collection Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Accessories:  Big Shot, Daisies # 2 Die, Glimmer Brads, Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Embossing Buddy, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Photo Corners Punch (inside)

When designing such a bold, colorful card, I thought we needed something on the inside Inside Gerbera MDthat would complement it.  The Razzle Dazzle stamp set is just the ticket!  I also wanted some appropriate words and found them in the Always stamp set.
