Thanks so much for stopping by today and hopping along our Autism Matters Memory Keeping Blog Hop.
April is Autism Awareness Month, and we are helping bring awareness to autism and its challenges through our Memory Keeping Blog Hop. This is the second event I have been part of in my personal efforts to highlight Autism Awareness. You can see my previous post here for Autism Awareness Day when I did a card-making fundraiser for our local Arc which helps families facing developmental disabilities from cradle to grave. They are a terrific resource and very worthy of any donation you would like to make! With Autism being the third most common developmental disorder being diagnosed today, it critically important for us to become more aware of Autism in general, and how we can be supportive to friends, and family members dealing with this diagnosis everyday.
Okay, onto my project…Most of my Memory Keeping is done with Project Life by Stampin' Up!–mainly because it is quick and easy and fun! But one of the things I love about memory keeping is that there are no rules. I still produce SOME traditional scrapbook pages and then mix them in with my Project Life by Stampin' Up! pages in the same album. Did you know you can do that???!!! Stampin' Up! page protectors fit our albums whether using traditional 12 x 12 page protectors or pocket style pages. I love the variety that produces in my albums! The main thing with memory keeping is to just do it!
The scrapbook pages I'm sharing today go perfectly with the Autism Matters theme. People in the autism spectrum are so individual and unique. Each one is special and a bit different. There is not "classic autism" or "typical autism" or anything like that. Of course, that brings about challenge for families and the medical community even as it brings home the truth that each and every person is unique. So my scrapbook pages are a little bit funky and eclectic with a bright color scheme, and they come together quickly.
The Stampin' Up! supplies I used are listed below, and you can click on any item to get more info and/or shop for them. We made these pages in my scrapbook club in San Antonio this month. If you would like more information about that, just click here.
I so appreciate you stopping by today as you hop with the Autism Matters Memory Keeping Blog Hop. If you would like to make a donation of ANY SIZE to help families in the San Antonio area, please go to the Arc's website to see the amazing things they are doing to bring Autism Awareness to our local community and to I support families facing this very unique challenge. They do not receive federal funding, so every dollar we can give makes a big difference for them.
