Flowering Fields-Stampin’ Up!

Flowering Fields by Stampin' Up! is one of this year's Sale-a-Bration stamp sets, and I just love it!  This super simple card is the result of another challenge I participated in.  It was a color challenge using Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry.  That is not a color combo I would ever have come up with, but it is the color combo in the Party Wishes Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Catalog which is a really delightful stack of papers to work with.  So I wanted to participate in this color challenge.  I created this handmade card while hosting my weekend crafting retreat in January.  I did not have any of that DSP with me, no ribbon, no twine, nada.  At my retreats, I'm mainly helping my ladies who have come to the event–spoiling them, visiting with them, and helping them with their projects.  So I only had some photos that needed organizing and one of my Project Life by Stampin' Up! card collections.  And that did not have any of these colors.

But a challenge is a challenge and I was determined to participate.  I did have my full collection of Stampin' Write markers, some half sheets of card stock, and plenty of card stock scraps.  So this simple handmade card is the result.  Several people liked it, so I thought I would share it here.  I used very few supplies.  And I do appreciate that sometimes the simplest and quickest handmade cards are just what we need.  No fuss.  Just simple beauty.

When you look at the Stampin' Up! supply list, there are a LOT of markers listed.  Truth be told, I only used 4, but most of our markers are no longer available individually.:(  So you have to get the Color Collection set.  The sets are actually a better buy as you get 10 markers for $29 or $2.90 each vs. $3.50 each.  And the Many Marvelous Markers is the big, big set of markers–38 markers for $110 which figures out to $2.29 per marker.  The Many Marvelous Markers come in a VERY NICE carrying case that takes up a very small footprint in your crafting area or desk.  And there is room for the In Color Markers–which change out every 2 years.

That $110 is actually a great deal, and if you balk at that price, I invite you to host a party or gather orders totaling at least $300 and you will get any item at 1/2 off.  We are in the Sale-a-Bration period, so you would also get $61 in host rewards (free products of your choice with free shipping on those items!).  So we have ways of helping you stretch your budget!

Flowering Fields-Stampin' Up!

And before I share the Stampin' Up! supply list, let me just say that the Flowering Fields stamp set ties right into the current trend of adult coloring pages.  We stampers have been participating in adult coloring for years, long before it was a trend!  There are lovely, delicate flower and foliage images in Flowering Fields.  They are small and delicate, so they don't need a lot of coloring.  Just a few touches with a Stampin' Write Marker or a Blender Pen dipped into ink and you have lovely bunches or fields of flowers.  I'll be sharing more of my creations from this favorite Sale-a-Bration stamp set, so stay tuned in the coming days for more Flowering Fields inspiration:)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
