First Christmas Rubber Stamp Set

First Christmas Rubber Stamp Set

First Christmas-Simple
For today's Inspirational Sunday Post, I want to share this lovely handmade card featuring the First Christmas rubber stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  I received this swap recently and love its simplicity that mirrors the simplicity of the true meaning of Christmas.

With an all-neutrals color scheme of Crumb Cake and Early Espressp and the touchable texture brought by the new Core'dinations Cardstock (sandable!) and Woodgrain Embossing Folder, I think it evokes the mood and feel of that First Christmas night in the stable in Bethlehem long ago.

Although there are many beautiful images associated with Christmas, the Christ Child in the Manger is where it all begins.  Without Jesus Christ, there would be no Christmas!  Startling to think about.  What would our world be without Christmas?  Both the holiday season and the coming of Christ?

Although there are people who struggle with sad feelings at Christmas brought about by the death of loved ones, memories of difficult life experiences, and more, the fact remains that there is a LOT of goodwill spread during the Christmas season.  From the airwaves being filled with upbeat, happy music as well as lots of carols bringing the Word of God to our world via music, there is a positive atmosphere injected into our stores, homes, and cars.  With the many holiday decorations in homes, front yards, shops, and public spaces, there is lots of bright color brought into our world…and nativity scenes again bringing the message of Jesus coming to earth to save mankind from its sinfulness. As people gather for holiday parties and family get-togethers, there are lots of celebrations that bring renewal of relationships.  (Now, I'm not ignorant of the fact that there are also family explosions during the holidays–but they are not the norm.  There are far more positive gatherings than angry ones.)  All these expressions of cheer, good will, and just plain fun are brought about by Christmas–the holiday season birthed (!!!) by Jesus Christ.

As you think about the upcoming holiday season, consider reconnecting with the true meaning of Christmas.  At Tower City Church (my home church where my husband is Pastor), we love celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and helping people connect with Jesus Christ and one another.  Join us now and get ready for your best Christmas season ever…reveling in the true reason for the season:)  Full details of our church may be found at towercitychurch.com.
