Fabulous Florets

Today, I want to share another handmade card using the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog and watercolor paper.  This stamp set has both line art images li Fabulous Florets Watercolor-001
ke the poppies (shown here on the card) that make for great watercoloring, as well as solid art images like the big zinnia and foliage images.

I love the versatility of Stampin' Up! stamp sets, and this one enables me to create more artsy cards like this one that take a little bit longer to make (a true labor of love:) as well as quick and easy cards like the one shown previously on my blog here.

I created this for a recent Summer Mini Catalog swap (an exchange of creative ideas via card fronts swapped amongst Stampin' Up! demonstrators) and really like the very simple color scheme of Rose Red, Very Vanilla, and a little Basic Black to make the colors stand out plus just a hint of Baja Breeze to evoke thoughts of the sky.  So although this is somewhat artsy with its use of watercolor paper and a watercoloring technique using aquapainters and Stampin' Write Markers, it's actually a fairly simple card.

I would love to demonstrate this card for you at a summer workshop.  What is that?  It's a fun gathering of you plus some friends and/or family.  We get together at your place or mine (my Stamping Studio) and I demonstrate a great handstamped card like this plus help you and your guests make a handmade card for themselves.  You can keep those cards or give them away.  But I warn you–if you give them away be prepared for a reaction of "Wow!  Did you make this?!!"  Email me at candy@sweetstamper.com (or just click on the Email Candy button to your left) or call me at 210-355-5729 to set a date and get answers to any questions you might have.  I can't wait to stamp with you!
