For today's inspirational Sunday post, I wanted to share this handmade inspirational card featuring Day of Gratitude stamp set. I love the "greeting" or text part of this stamp set: Gratitude can transform common days into Thanksgivings. Living out this truth is, literally, transformational. Gratitude is not just the act of giving thanks but involves a heart that is deeply appreciative and turns heavenward, away from self. It is so easy to think of all the things we DON'T have, all the things we wish we DID have, and to be self-absorbed. But as we turn outward, away from self, our perspective changes. God is good to all, and gratitude is a choice we make that enriches our lives in ways that nothing else can.
As we approach Thanksgiving Day, do a little practice before you get there. Try offering some thanks and getting your heart into a state of gratefulness. As you stop to count your blessings, watch your mood change. Watch your perspective change. Watch your countenance (an old-fashioned word that is quite poetic and means "the expression on one's face") change.
Make today a Day of Gratitude and thank God for His many blessings to YOU!
