Christmas card ideas using Peaceful Nativity and a neutral color palette (with no coloring in!) were on the docket for my Simple and Stepped Up Facebook Live last week.  Each Thursday I feature a #simplestamping project and then step it up.  While today's projects do utilize a set of die cuts (Layering Ovals Dies) to be used with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss (aka Big Boss) machine or other die-cutting machine, everything else is super simple and quick–perfect for mass-producing Christmas cards.  If you like to let your light shine and share your faith during the holidays, Peaceful Nativity stamp set is a great fit! peacefulnativitystampinupcandyrattrayreligiouschristmascard

Using all browns along with the woodgrain DSP and textured ribbon gives this card a very simple, earthy vibe.  These elements perfectly depict the simplicity of the Christmas story, the birth of the Christ Child.  Jesus was born in a stable and placed in a manger–simple, approachable, available for all mankind. For my stepped up version of the above card, I thought I would add gold heat embossing.  But I just could not get that to match what was in my head for a slightly stepped up version of my original card.  So I added a gold scalloped oval frame and it was just the ticket!  Because I had that double oval, I opted for a simple flag for the greeting.

Stepped up elements:

  • Gold Foil frame
  • Gold Edged Ribbon–colored with Stampin' Blends for a rich brown!

You can watch the design process in my video shared below.  Please head to facebook.com/sweetstamper and like my page so you will get notifications for my twice weekly Facebook Live stamping demonstrations.  I would love to have you join us!
