I'm continuing my posts featuring samples with Stampin' Up! Retiring List products, and for today's post my main focus is the gorgeous Blended Bloom rubberstamp. For a single stamp, it sure is versatile! I have featured it before and you can find those posts here and here. I created this handmade card to teach a technique: stamping with bleach. Instead of ink, you "ink" up your stamp with bleach! It's super fun to do and produces really lovely effects. Here are a few tips for stamping with bleach rubberstamping technique:
- I use Stampin' Up! card stock (of course!) which is dyed all the way through. Not all card stocks have this quality, and it is important when stamping with bleach. Due to the dyed core, each color will produce a slightly different color–it won't be white. It will be a lovely bleached out version of the original color.
- Use dark card stock–otherwise your bleached image will be too faint to really appreciate. Unless you want a super subtle look..then go for it!
- Use fresh bleach. IOW, don't keep a container of it in your craft space to reuse. Just get some fresh from your Clorox bottle and then let it clean your sink when you are finished:)
- Once you "ink" up your stamp, hold it on the card stock for a few seconds before lifting. As the bleach dries, it pulls color out of the card stock.
