Banners for Christmas in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog caught my eye the first time I pored over the catalog and is one of the first stamp sets I purchased during our demonstrator preorder (1 month before the catalog goes live for the public). Here are the reasons I think this is a great purchase:
- LOTS of useful words that I can customize. Although this is a Christmas stamp set, I used one of the words and banner frames in a fall card here.
- The candy cane stamp! OMG! It's gorgeous!
- The mistletoe stamp–so pretty:)
- The crossover value–I already have the Banners for You bundle, so the framelits were already in my Studio. I love the value I get when I purchase a bundle and then another stamp set that coordinates with the things I already have:)
Okay, so there's my pitch for why I think this is a great value. Now onto the creative part of this Christmas card. I absolutely adore all things traditional and classical Christmas. Reds and greens are my favorite Christmas colors for all things Christmas. Although I like other Christmas color schemes–the blues, the purples, the golds, the silvers…I always come back to red and green. That is probably rooted in my childhood and comfort:)
This card is one of SIXTEEN projects we made at my recent Training Event (aka Stamp Camp in San Antonio), and it was one of the favorites. The fact that the framelits cut out the banner and the stamps are photopolymer means that this comes together quickly. And although the Candy Cane Lane Bakers Twine CAN be threaded through the mini jingle bells, I simply tied the twine the way I wanted it and then stuck the bell on with a Mini Glue Dot. Quick, easy, and done!
Save the date, January 14th, for my next Training Event aka Stamp Camp in San Antonio. You don't want to miss it!
