For today's Saturday Sample, here's a handmade card I created using the fabulous new Autumn Accents Die. I am loving the shapes of the different leaves on this die and am anticipating its many, many uses. I'm looking at these gorgeous leaves and thinking how great it will look to scatter a bunch of them on the table and serving area for Thanksgiving Dinner this year.
But I digress. Back to today's Saturday Sample. Each week, I feature a card on Saturday, the Saturday Sample, complete with supply list. That is so you can recreate the sample…or change it up by adapting it to the supplies you already have on hand.
For the handmade card above, the Autumn Accents Die and the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper are the stars of the "show," and they both are featured in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. I love handmade cards that make you want to feel them, run your hand over the elements, and experience the joy of handmade cards vs. the slick, mass-produced kind. And I love the way Stampin' Up! coordinated products allow us to create repeating images–one of my favorite design elements. See how the herringbone pattern on the designer series paper is repeated in the herringbone texture on the maple leaf? The stripe texture on the oak leaf is slanted in the same direction as the herringbone on the designer series paper. These little repeats of pattern make for a design that is pleasing to the eye. Did I say, yet, how much I absolutely love the colors and patterns in the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper? I adore it!
