Alaska Achievers Blog Hop-Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper for Free!

Welcome to the March installment of the monthly Alaska Achievers Blog Hop.  Each month, achieving Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world team up to bring you fresh, creative inspiration.  You are at Candy Rattray, sweetstamper.com.  This month, we are sharing Occasions Catalog and/or Sale-a-Bration products, and I'm highlighting my favorite Sale-a-Bration (aka SAB:) item, Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper.

Springtime Foils DSP is just so gorgeous, and it's absolutely FREE!  I can hardly believe it!  I've been placing SAB orders and stocking up on this beautiful paper because I just cannot get enough of it.  There are 4 patterns, each with some shiny foil:)  For today's card I chose the one that mixes silver and gold.  The mixed metals look is a hot trend, and I love it!

I created today's share for a recent Techniques Class.  To add color to the Springtime Foils DSP for this card, I used the Sponge Brayer and added 2 shades of green for an ombre effect:  Lemon Lime Twist (my absolute favorite In Color!) and Garden Green.  The Foam Brayer makes quick work of this and produces a really nice "wow" effect in about 60 seconds.  The silver and gold foil resist the ink, so it only sinks into the plain white part of the paper.  Talk about a beautiful look!

I'll highlight just a few other things about my card:

• Use the Envelope Punch Board to round the corners of a piece of plain card stock.  It totally transforms the look, and I love the softness it adds to my card since there are so many sharp angles.
• When using a technique for the background, I like to keep the remaining elements of the card pretty simple.  To me, that allows the pretty technique to really shine.
• See that delicate little silver flower with the pearl center?  It's one of the Petal Passion Elements, and I love these little pieces of specialness!  They add just the right touch to many projects.  They are super flat, so they don't add bulk:)
