Welcome to the December Alaska Achievers Blog Hop where demonstrators from all over the world will wow you with their creations. I'm so glad you're here! You are at Candy Rattray, sweetstamper.com blog. The full list of blogs on the hop is below, so just scroll down if you get lost at any point. Now let's get on to today's masculine birthday card.
When I first saw Bubble Over Bundle (at OnStage Live), with its bottles and the greeting I used here, I knew it was a must -have for me. My youngest child brews beer for a living! So my very first thought was to create a masculine birthday card with Bubble Over. When creating masculine cards, I like to add texture and use embellishments sparingly. I hope you like it!
I used both brick and wood to evoke a great masculine feel. The Brick Wall Textured Impressions Folder is fantastic for masculine cards and provides touchable texture here. Pair it with the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and you have a perfect combo for masculine cards. I went with a neutral color palette and added just a pop of color–Dapper Denim–with a strip of Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper. My favorite part of this card is that shiny bottle cap made with Copper Foil Sheets!
All the Stampin' Up! supplies I used are listed and linked below for your convenience. I'd like to point out 2 tools that make this masculine birthday card come together with ease:
- Stampin' Pierce Mat–when using photopolymer stamps, this is a must-have in my opinion. You will consistently get crisp, clear images when you use it as a pad underneath your cardstock.
- Precision Base Plate–when die cutting small and/or intricate dies, the Precision Base Plate is the way to go. My bottle cap came out quickly, easily, and in perfect shape when I used the Precision Base Plate.
That's it for today. Come back tomorrow to see another Bubble Over Bundle card–this time one that is young and feminine! Now, head on over to the next stop on the Alaska Achievers Blog Hop for more awesome creative inspiration right now!
