Patterned Party-Birthday Party Invitation

Patterned Party stamp set is the perfect fit for this birthday party invitation for my grandson's first birthday.  My daughter Tiffany (check out her blog:  handydandyhelper.blogspot.com) is preparing for Jonah's first birthday, and the party theme–yes, it's a home party!–is Golden Books.  Tiffany grew up with home birthday parties and is carrying on the tradition with her kids.  She wrote a great post about home birthday parties here.

Patterned Party
Tiffany's Golden Books theme is perfect for young children, girls or boys.  For this 5 x 7 invite, she downloaded the background image you see from another blog, printed it on Stampin' Up! gold card stock, and then added simple stamped images from the Patterned Party stamp set.  She wanted a bit of a retro feel for her invitations, and Patterned Party cooperated beautifully!  The lighting is not great in this photo–I was trying to capture the subtle shine of the gold card stock and fantastic glimmer of the Dazzling Details on the cake.  Alas, I fell a bit short:(

The number 1 at the top of the invite was cut out of scraps from the gold card stock base using the new Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies–which include numbers–and the Big Shot.  And of course, the shapes on the birthday party invitations are from the Labels Collection Framelits.  These shapes are super-popular, and it's easy to see why when you work with them.  They are so versatile, spanning ages and genders and styles, and I love that you have 6 different sizes to choose from and layer with:)  I love my Big Shot!  The silver sparkle on the birthday cake comes from the Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details in the new Holiday Catalog.  You can't actually order that until August 1, but being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I had preordered this fantastic little item (only $2.50!), so it was on my work table.  Tiffany was so chuffed to see all that glimmer and dazzling shine on her little birthday cake images!
